Bentayga Winery

About the company

The winery is located near the highest vineyard. Part of its facilities are excavated in natural stone. It is precisely in one of the caves where the aging room is located, with natural and stable conditions of temperature and humidity. Our red wines rest here, in new barrels less than 5 years old, made of American, Hungarian and French oak from the forests of Allier. The choice of the type of barrel for each type of grape is a careful decision of our winemaker. The winery currently has a production capacity of 55,000 liters. A small laboratory helps us to control our elaborations. We bottle on the property.

AGALA is an aboriginal word of Berber origin that refers to a high mountain.
On a high mountain, on the summit of Gran Canaria, is where our vines are grown and our wines are produced and bottled, at a maximum altitude of 1,318 meters.
The symbol in the form of a cross that we use as an image of our wines, corresponds to a petroglyph made by our ancestors and found in the caves of the Roque Bentayga, beautiful and spectacular basaltic piton that has left the geology in Gran Canaria.
The Roque rises 1,404m inside the volcanic caldera of Tejeda and crowns the views of our winery.
